Keresley Green Medical Centre

Keresley Green Medical Centre opened its doors in Spring 2006.

A £2.6 million purpose built facility of 1,348m² which lies to the north west of Coventry City Centre. This building has bought together a range of primary care services including two GP practices: Springfield Medical Practice and Park Leys Medical Practice. Further to this, other services include: community health, a pharmacy, Phlebotomy, as well as a minor operating suite and conference room.

The design of the building incorporates a large and welcoming open reception area, which feeds the rest of the building. The open and shared reception desk gives patients of either practice a clear and welcoming approach to their GP and other services. The exterior of the building has been designed to complement the surrounding area, with an attractive white render turret and cedar cladding.

“This project is the first new community health facility in Coventry that we have started work on this year already and it has been a real partnership between the local residents, private sector partners, GP’s and the local NHS. The result is going to be a state-of-the-art health centre which should go a long way to improving community health services in the area” - Teresa French, Director of Performance, Management and Business Development

“Keresley Green has a friendly and welcoming feel to it, which means that both delivering health care and having somewhere nice to work has been achieved. All of the staff, doctors and patients have commented on the success of this development from our previous accommodation” - Chris Mullett, Practice Manager for Park Leys.

City of Coventry Health Centre

The award winning City of Coventry Health Centre is the largest primary care development to happen within Coventry and one of the largest in the country. At 10,250m² over five storeys of state of the art primary care space, the health centre provides a range of services for the community and the City as a whole.

The project was completed on time and on budget and was open to the public in December 2011.

One of the key figures throughout the process was Dr. Andy Beaumont, Senior partner with Priory Gate Practice, one of five practices operating from the Centre. He commented: “A great deal of time has been invested in making sure we ended up with a design that works, not only for our practices and patients, but also one that reflects requirements. At the beginning of the planning process most GPs wanted more of a visible street presence and be located on the ground floor, which is usual practice. However, during the ongoing dialogue it was felt that given the number of other services operating on that level including the walk-in centre, café and pharmacy; it would be far from ideal. Now that we are based on the first floor it’s a really serene environment and it’s always a pleasure to come to work. The rooms are spacious, well lit and warm and our patients have been very enthusiastic about the changes."

Clay Lane Health Centre

AEP completed construction on the 1,322m² health centre in the heart of Upper Stoke, Coventry, in April 2013.

The facility became fully operational and open to the public from May 2013. A £1.22 million variation to the original design to install a renal unit took place in 2017 installing 12 stations, plus supporting accommodation.

The development has brought together three local GP practices of Dr Imoru, Dr Kashoty and Dr Pasha, a modern pharmacy and University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire who run the renal service.

Forrest Medical Centre

Forrest Medical Centre opened its doors in Autumn 2015.

The £1.2 million Medical Centre in Canley has signalled a key milestone in the ongoing regeneration of the area. A two-storey 750m² facility, built by AEP's local construction partner Crowngate Construction, combining the services that were offered by the Canley and Chapelfields surgeries.

Dr. O’Brien commented:  “We owe a great debt to retired Senior Partner Dr Caroline Rhodes who put in so much time and effort over the years to help get us where we are today. Looking around the Centre you can see that this new facility will be providing first class primary care for the next 25 years and beyond. We have independence, stability and a first class team of doctors and staff with many years ahead of them here.”

He added: “During the bringing together of two practices the current staff have been very understanding and continue to be supportive of the move and share our ethos for the practice. Moving two establishments into one requires tolerance and understanding by everyone.”

Managing Partner Matthew Grant said “We are very proud of our history – where we have come from and what we have done and achieved.  This building gives us the chance to really make a difference. It has also given us the opportunity to develop a new logo with a little help from pupils from local school Woodlands Academy."
